Birthday Surprise

After his nap which was about an hour we quickly cleaned up our mess fastening it to the horse that I had been riding. Jon mounted up holding his hand out to me and I mounted in front of him as we rode back to the car. I leaned back against his chest just enjoying the ride the air was not too bad, not too hot just a slight breeze that blew my hair into my eyes. I turned to look at Jon when he leaned forward a bit and kissed my ear. “did you enjoy your picnic...” I just smiled and kissed his lips gently nodding. “good I can't wait for you to see the other plan I have for today...” He hit the horse into a gallop and I held on as we got to the ranch house. Handing the basket to Jerry we dismounted then groomed the horses before we headed out for the rest of the day. 

 

I didn't know what else he had planned for today but I couldn't get any information from him at all. He was as secretive when we got back to the apartment there was a note from my mom that she had taken Jovi for the day. I looked at Jon frowning what was he up to. I was just going upstairs to unlock the door when it opened Richie stood there grinning. I nearly jumped out of my skin. “RICHIE.. when did you get here... and how did you ...” I rolled my eyes “never mind .. let me guess my MOM let you in?”

He grinned “got it in one … now sorry Kidd but I am stealing her away for a day of pampering my treat you can have her back later...” He grabbed my arm before I could protest. What were these two up to. I gave him a stink eye the best I could but just like Jon's it didn't phase him just made him laugh. Soon we were headed to Albany.

“I thought we were headed to the place that I went to before the dance ...” I told him as we drove towards Albany. I was not one of those fancy girls who had to have my hair done every time we turned around. Hell I usually just threw it up in a tail. I looked at him he had a smirk on his face my arms folded across my chest.

Nope … taking you to a place a friend of mine told me in Albany besides … Jon wants you out of the town so he can finish up his plans for the rest of your day and before you ask I am not telling you anything.” He winked at me as he drove his car. We arrived about an hour later and I was swept away for a couple hours of as the girl called beautifying. I just went with the flow because I knew I had no say in the matter anyways. Unbeknownst to me back in town Jon planning something that would knock my socks off. After having my hair done my nails done and makeup done .. I was slid into a dark blue dress with a string of pearls and a smart bolero sequin jacket. After I was all finished Richie slid a blindfold over my eyes before getting into his car and heading off.

I tried again to get an idea of what Jon had planned but Richie kept mum. I had no clue where he was taking me or what was going on. I tried peaking once or twice but Richie gave me a look and a sat back to enjoy the ride. We had been riding for awhile when he told me that we were almost there. I knew we had to be as it had to be getting later I had spent hours at the salon his friend had done a number on me. I hadn't done this since the disastrous dance.

As we slowed to a stop I tried to use my other senses to figure out where we were. All I heard was birds and then I stilled hearing the lapping of water against something from outside the car. Richie quickly helped me out of the car and removed the blindfold. Jon stood by the dock holding a dozen lilies behind him stood a boat the captain standing on the bow. “what huh?” I was completely and utterly thrown. I had not expected anything like this. Jon smiled at me. “Jon what ...”

“I told you wanted to make your birthday special so we have a boat ride along the Hudson just us and the boat … well and the captain cause I sure can't steer it..” He grinned handing me the flowers. With utter shock he took my hand and guided me up the gang plank as Richie got into his car and drove away.
