Chapter 28

Shanna was escorted back to the dressing room where Jon waited for her. He quickly threw off his sweaty clothes and got the quickest shower possible so that he wasn't smelly when she got there. He was just rubbing his hair dry when the door opened. His face broke into a grin as she walked through the doorway. He moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her waist pressing another kiss to her lips. “did you enjoy the concert?” He rubbed her arm staring down into her eyes.

Shanna smiled “yes I did …. “ She sighed “though Jon.. that that ..” She shook her head unsure to express what was on her mind. “why did you bring me in front of everyone... aren't you gong to catch flack for that add in we said we were going to take it slow... kissing me like that in front of thousands of fans is not taking it slow..” She teased him. The smile on her face showed him that she wasn't really upset just shocked.

Jon shrugged his shoulders and pulled her closer. “I wanted to do that have since I left you in Madison. “ He lifted her up into his arms. “besides there was no one else in that whole stadium that I wanted to dance or kiss right at that moment... like this..” he bent his head down and pressed his lips to hers again. They were completely oblivious to anyone or anything when the door opened.

“Okay Romeo … and Juliet...” A voice came from behind them. Richie stood there with his arms folded against his broad chest. “you two going to stay in here or are we going to go hang out in the green room. “ he smirked “or are you going to keep sunshine there all to yourself man?” He leaned against the door frame. “I mean the guys would like to get to know the girl that has stolen our friend's heart... I promise to keep the man hungry women away from you..” he joked. Jon just gave him a dirty look then looked down at Shanna.

“sorry Rich I got plans that don't include a bunch of fans, press or anyone else but me and Shanna..” He grinned as he grabbed his coat and her hand. He had planned this since the night before. He had a picnic basket setting in the limo waiting for them with hot food and small bottle of wine. He smiled at Richie as he left the room with Shanna closing the door behind them. They quickly made their way out the back way into the large limo waiting for them.

They headed out the back the driver stood by the door of the limo as Jon helped Shanna in the back. He followed her inside to the left of the seats sat a insulated picnic basket. He took her hand and settled back against the seat. Looking back at the driver “take it slow Jake .. I want to enjoy as much time as I can with her.” The man nodded shutting the door they left.

As they drove back towards her home Shanna watched as Jon dug into the picnic basket bringing out two covered plates and two glasses. He set it on the seat between then and dug out the silverware. He looked up at her smiling face “what?”

“you had this all planned out ...” She shook her head.

He shrugged “yeah … kind of … “ The rest of the right was filled with them eating and just talking. There wasn't much they didn't know about each other but Jon was determined to find out everything he could about her. Her favorite music flowers colors .. anything and everything. They enjoyed the wine and just settled against each other his arms wrapped around her, her head resting on his shoulder. He had never felt so content in his life besides the time he was staying at her apartment. But this, this was so much better he could hold her without a problem, kiss her … without wondering if she was going to smack him for it. He wondered if she found the gift that was with the flowers probably not. He would just wait till she did. They made it back to Madison quicker than he would have liked. He looked down she was sound asleep against him her mouth in a slight pout. A small smile broke across his face as he leaned down to kiss her nose. Knowing if he woke her up she would be not be happy yet if he didn't she wouldn't be either. He dug into her pocket of her jeans hoping he found the keys. She shifted closer to him as it was still a bit chilly out.

They pulled up to the apartment building he was surprised but not to see Caleb and Kali standing outside talking. He looked at his watch. It was a little after one. The limo stopped and Jake got out holding the door open for him. He stepped out but quickly leaned in to lift Shanna out with him. Her eyes fluttered open to look at him but quickly shut. He gave her another kiss before heading towards her family.

“Looks tired out..” Caleb grinned. “here I'll take her...I know you need to get back...”

“Naw Man I got time..if you can unlock the door “ He shifted with Shanna in his arms. They headed up the stairs. Jovi jumped up but stopped when he saw his mistress in his favorite human's arms. Jon got her settled into the bed before going down the stairs. He had given her another kiss before he did. He felt like he was floating on air. He gave Caleb a crooked grin. “what?”

“nothing man ...” he held out a beer but it was politely refused “ya gotta head out?” He stood there with Kali who had just come down from getting Shanna into her pajamas her daughter was out like a light but with a smile on her face.

“yeah I don't want to go but we leave tomorrow to our next stop..” he looked towards the stairs. “I don't want to leave but ...” He shook his head “I promise I'll call her again..” He gave Kali a hug, Jovi a pat and shook Caleb's hand. “I promise to keep in touch...” He left after looking back towards the stairs again.

The next morning I woke up I felt so completely different. Somehow I was in my pajamas I knew Jon hadn't done that must be my mother or Anna. I got up and got ready for a day with my great niece. I had a couple letters to deliver to her personally that the guys had given me after the show. I was still thinking about the night before when I got downstairs to make my breakfast. I look at the time shocked to see it was already noon. That meant Jon and the guys were already probably in the air to their next destination or there already. I wrapped my arms around myself kind of sad that he was gone that I never even got to say goodbye this time. I had fell asleep against him I had never felt so content or safe in my life with anyone like I did with him. Something about Jon Francis Bongiovi destroyed all my barriers and made me just feel alive. I grabbed my coffee when I noticed there was something hanging off the vase I had set in the window. It hadn't been there before or had it. I don't remember. It just must be something to keep the flowers fresh.

I was getting ready to go out when I head a ringing. I looked at my phone on the wall but it wasn't ringing. I kept looking around to try to find out what the hell it was coming from. I wondered if my brother left his cellphone here but there was nothing on the counter tops or my coffee table. I headed to the kitchen when I passed by my window it was coming from there. I looked at the bag the ringing was coming from there. I headed over lifting the bag up and dug inside. I was shocked to find a wrapped package that was ringing and vibrating. Unwrapping it I stared down at it, a silver cellphone stared back at me. Flipping it open I answered. “hello?”

“Good afternoon Beautiful..”

“Jon? What the … why what .. a cellphone?!”

“Well Its hard to keep in contact with landlines and this way you can call me at any time anywhere ….I can do the same...” He laughed.

“Jon really a cellphone I can't afford a cellphone!” I shook my head what was this guy going to think of next. Though I did like the idea of having a way to talk to him.

“don't worry about paying for it its on my plan … I'll use it more than you probably … it came with it .. so this way I can call you and you can call me no matter the time..” He rushed out as if to stop me from telling him that I couldn't keep it.

I sighed staring at the phone and hearing him over it sounded so good. “why did you leave last night... hell this morning why didn't you wake me up before you left..”I changed the subject as I knew even if I sent him the phone back somehow it would end up back with me anyway.

“you were tired and you looked so peaceful sleeping I didn't want to wake you..” Jon's voice is so soft and so sincere it makes me smile even though I want to stay mad at him for not waking me up so I could say goodbye. “your mom got you ready for bed I swear sweetheart ...” he added.

“I kind of figured that out Jon ..” I rolled my eyes “as much as I love talking to you on the phone … I have to get going .. I promised Kami a day with just her and I....” I set against the wall. “I had fun last night Jon .. and I had a wonderful time with our picnic in the limo...” I sighed “I miss you already...”

“I miss you too... I'll call you again soon I promise... I have to go too … we got a bunch of press crap to do and other things but I promise to call I love you Shanna Leah Reed...” My eyes closed . I wasn't sure of my feelings though they were so close to what he was feeling it was shocking. I swallowed.

“I I love you too Jon....” I hung up the phone before getting ready to go out. I slid the phone into my pocket and headed out to what would hopefully be a wonderful day.
