Jovi

“are you alright Jon?” Shanna asked Jon quietly. He looked pretty worried, his face pale but then being faced by an armed police officer anyone would. She walked over only to stop when she noticed some liquid on the floor. “uh did you spill something?”

Jon looked sheepish. “that would be my fault ...” He laughed nervously. “I had left the soda can on the floor Jovi knocked it over when I was talking to Richie on the phone ….I tried to get it cleaned up but your brother walked in … and we kind of been sitting like this since I got off the phone with you...”

“its okay relax...” She put her hand up and turned to Caleb . “will you knock it off .. he is who he says he is did you ask for his drivers license? And what are you doing here anyway I thought you were going to home this week....”Shanna looked angry. Jon watched her as she tore into her older brother this was a first for him. Someone was standing up for him instead of the other way around. “he needed a place to stay Caleb … Jason and Eric soaked his clothes yesterday after driving through that damn puddle by the coffee shop … I washed his clothes and there are no hotels here .. besides it's my apartment if I want to have someone stay here I can … I pay my own bills...”

“Shanna you don't know him how could you invite him into your apartment he could have pulled anything …. you don't know what kind of guys those rock stars are like ….” He shot Jon a look of contempt. “All they want is sex and drugs alcohol …. how do you know he wasn't going to ..”

“CALEB MICHEAL … will you knock it off... since Jon has been here he has been nothing but a gentlemen and he's stood up for me against Eric and Jason at the shop … will you quit jumping to conclusions” She turned back to Jon. “Are you okay he didn't hurt you did he?”

“no just scared the hell out of me .. I think he got pissed when Jovi wouldn't let him near ME ….” Jon chuckled nervously. Shanna's eyebrows raised at that information. Her dog had protected Jon from her brother that was definitely different . He patted the dog who was laying with his head on Jon's lap but had his body blocking anyone getting next to him. “he uh kind of growled at him. “

Caleb glared at the dog “he was barring his teeth at me Shanna .. he's never done that before … just because I asked this so called....” Jovi growled again. “fine ..” he lowered his voice “because I asked him what he was doing in your apartment and told him to get out..”

Jon watched as she pulled herself up to her full height and glared at her brother “You did what?” She hissed through her teeth. He looked over at her brother to see surprise on his face, like he wasn't used to her acting like this. “you did what? This is my apartment Caleb you can't just kick someone out of it … besides you don't have a right to do that anyway he's not breaking any law and its MY apartment NOT yours!”

“look Shanna if its going to be a problem I can leave .. its not an issue..” Jon stood up he wasn't going to cause a problem between her and her brother. It was nice that she offered but if it was that much of a hassle, he could drive to the next town and get a hotel room. He eyed Caleb for a second as he went over to grab his coat keeping his hands in sight less he think he was going to do something stupid. He really didn't need to be shot.
